Welcome to Toddler Tips!
Yes, welcome to the crazy, unpredictable world of mothering toddlers! The toddler stage is a once in a lifetime parenting bundle of joy, frustration, giggles, confusion, learning, and non-stop excitement–all packed into a few fleeting years. I hope that TODDLER TIPS will bring a few tricks of the toddler trade, a few snippets of wisdom and above all, a healthy dose of comic relief for those moments when you’re sure you’ll either lose your kids or lose your marbles.
I hear what you’re saying… so, what makes her an expert? Well, that’s an easy one. I’m NOT an expert. I’m just a Mommy navigating by the seat of my pants. With three pregnancies in four years, I’m a card-carrying member of the “baby bunching” club. My house is a three ring circus. I’m blessed with a 3 1/2 year-old (Drummer Boy), a 2 year-old (Squiggle Man) and a shiny new 2 month-old (Baby Girl). I work full time at an advertising agency while my children go to day care. I’ve rejected the guilt and just decided to miss them really bad all day and hug them constantly the rest of the time.
So, my qualifications: Despite my best efforts, I haven’t slept since the last presidential election. I have Good Night Moon, Are You My Mother? and Corduroy memorized. I’ve taught my children to say “no” and “huh” without even realizing it. A Little People service station and Graco baby swing are integral design elements in my living room decor. Only those under 40 pounds can ride in my back seat. I cook a mean pop tart and a so-so pot roast. I’m not above a little sucker bribe if it gets the job done.
The toddler years don’t stand a chance. Stay tuned and see if I can tip you off!
